Comments: The best I can advise you is to remove any of the competition that is around the root zone. If honeysuckle is anywhere around the root zone it should be removed. Red maples have struggled the last 3 or 4 years with the droughts we have had. This summer was not bad. I would look at the top half of the tree. If the top is in good shape I would say you are ok. If the top is dying out or losing many leaves early that would be a bad sign. Let me know what you think. If you want you can send a photo of the tree.Thanks,Steve
